Ammanford Pensioners Hall, Ammanford

During the prime era of coal mining, Ammanford was a thriving shopping center.
During the year 1995, Quay Street was pedestrianised and at one end stands a monument on which the names of all the local mines and logos appertaining to mining are sculptured, and a weekly open air market is held in its vicinity.
Fortunately supermarkets such as Co-Op, Iceland, Tesco and Lidl are situated within the town itself and not as an out-of-town development.
Plans for further regeneration are on-going.

The Hall

The hall was built in the 1960s with money collected by the pensioners of Ammanford on a site which is leased from Carmarthenshire Council.
It will comfortably seat 150 people when used for entertainment, lectures etc but about 100 when seated around tables.
Hiring charges are flexible and charged by the session rather than by the hour with concessions given to charitable organizations.
