Red Roses Community Centre, Red Roses

Red Roses is a small village central to a wider Eglwyscummin area which includes Marros and Ciffig, the population being spread around the now quiet roads A477 and B4314.  In the eighteenth century the region benefited from the establishment of the Oxford, Gloucester and Milford Haven road in 1875, the poorly built timber coaches of the day being drawn by four horses at a maximum rate of 6 m.p.h.  These days, transportation is a far cry from those times but has been recently improved even more with the opening of the Red Roses by-pass in April 2014, bringing an unusual quietude to the village in terms of the volume of traffic directly passing through.  Farming and holiday accommodation have now become the economic mainstays of the area.

The Hall

The hall (constructed in 2006/7) is situated in the centre of the village of Red Roses. It has a main hall, a kitchen with food preparation facilities, a first floor meeting room and toilets, including disabled. Two marquees (10m x 6m & 10m x 4m) are also available upon request.

Facilities in the main hall include a small stage with curtains, a sound and projection system and party lighting. The meeting room is fitted with a TV monitor and IT equipment. Competitive hire charges are available on request.
