Trapp Village Hall, Trapp, Llandeilo

Trapp can be found on the banks of the River Cennen four miles southeast of Llandeilo in the county of Carmarthenshire, South West Wales. The village sits on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park in the shadow of the Black Mountain.

The Afon Cennen flows through the village and is bridged there by the road from Ffairfach to Drefach. One mile to the east, and visible from the village, are the remains of Carreg Cennen Castle.

The Three Cairns is accessible from the Pale Cwrt Road. The Source of the River Loughor is also on this road.




The Hall

Trapp School opened in 1851 and became the centre of a vibrant community. The school closed in 2006 due to the fall in school numbers. In 2011 Trapp Community Association bought the building with the aid of a grant from the Big Lottery and generous support from the land owner, Lord Dynevor. It became Trapp Village Hall, ‘Yr Hen Ysgol’.

The Café is open Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday, 11.00 am to 1.30 pm.

The hall dimensions are: 15m x 11m (45ft x 33ft) (L shaped) and seats 50

It is available for hire as a:

  • meeting room with free WiFi and IT facilities;
  • as a hall.

The kitchen is well equipped and all facilities are accessible.

Wheelchair access is at the front.

There are toilets with facilities for disabled people and a baby changing unit.

We have an Electric Piano available.

It is centrally heated and has solar panels.

There is a small parking area at the back of the building.
