Pontargothi lies either side of the A40, Carmarthen-Llandeilo road some 5 miles east of Carmarthen. It is noted for the beautiful River Cothi, which runs through the village; the exquisite Trinity Church, which stands on the banks of the Cothi, and the annual Cothi Bridge Show. The Showground itself is also a popular venue for equestrian events and caravan rallies.
Built as a memorial to ten young men from the area who died in the First World War, the hall was fully refurbished and extended in 2006. It can accommodate up to 150 people seated or 100 at tables.
Since its refurbishment it has proved popular as a venue for workshops and seminars, and many local activities. Charges are from £35 per session, negotiable. There are spaces for 40 vehicles.
