Pentrecwrt Village Hall, Pentrecwrt

Pentrecwrt (or Pentre-cwrt) is a village in Carmarthenshire, Wales on the A486 road to New Quay.

The village was the home of writer and poet T. Llew Jones.

The Hall

In 1987 the hall registered as a charity and in the early 1990's the hall recived improvements however a few years later the building needed a total refrbishment so it was decided to build a new hall. The hall was rebuilt in 2003 with £230, 000 of european grant money and uses renewable energy, it is heated by ground source heating. The hall is hoping to receive £15, 000 of grant money to install a 4Kw solar panel system to make he hall even more sustainable. The hall is maintained for the use of the community and any profits are donated to agencys who help the community. Grants between the sums of £1000-£2000 are handed out to these agencys.

Ground Source Heating, Stage Area and Curtain, Changing Rooms and Storage behind stage area, small kitchen, disabled toilets, main hall, small function room, induction loop, P.A. System, portable lighting equipment, projector and laptop available if needed. The wall behind the stage area is white and used as a projector screen. Main Auditorium with a cpacity of 100. The hall costs £5 per hour to hire. The small function room can seat 12-14 people.
